Reser_port1Conservative Republican Jack Reser is a community leader who’s trying to change state government for the better by running for the Ohio House of Representatives. He’s seeking the Republican nomination this March for the seat now held by our State Representative Tony Core, who’s not seeking re-election because of term limits. 

Public Service - Reser currently serves as Logan County Commissioner, a position he’s held for over 6 years. During his term as a commissioner, the county with Reser’s help has brought in well over $11 million in grant money for a variety of projects including housing, parks, homeland security, sewer, road improvements and community restoration projects. 

As County Commissioner, Reser serves on the Logan, Union, and Champaign County Planning Commissions, the Council on Aging, and the Local Emergency Planning Advisory Committee. 

During Reser’s tenure as commissioner, Reser has fought hard to reduce government spending by reducing the commissioner expenditures by more than $172,000 and limiting the growth of government to less 1% a year. He has also helped to develop innovative new programs such as multi county healthcare pool, wellness initiatives for community citizens and county employees, as well as building a new long-term care facility without using taxpayers dollars.

Small Business Background - Jack Reser is a businessman. He owns and operates Lee’s Comfort Shoes and Active Orthopedics, the family footwear store that’s been doing business in our area since 1948. Reser served on a state board that helps people like wounded veterans who need artificial limbs.  

Reser’s long been involved in promoting small business in our region as Economic Development Director, land use planner, and Chamber of Commerce President. He lead the efforts to bring two new industrial parks to the area, as well as World Class Plastic and the expansions of Honda Transmission, AGC, and Midwest Express. 

speaking1Community Involvement & Leadership - A strong believer in giving back to the community, Reser has served on numerous boards and committees including the Union County Recyclers Board of Trustees, United Way, and Universal Hospice of Logan County.  Reser has coached for youth baseball, soccer, and softball. 

Awards - Reser has been honored with awards from a range of organizations such as the Friend of Children and the Public Supporter of the Year awards given by the Children Services Board, the Supporter of Education award from the Bellefontaine City School District and the Ohio Superintendents Educational Service Center Association Meritorious Service Award. 

Party Involvement - Reser has always been a supporter of conservative Republican causes. He’s actively involved in the Logan County Republican Party as a Central Committee Member and Executive Vice Chairman. 

Memberships - Reser is a member of several organizations including the National Rifle Association, National Coalition for Life, Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Logan County Farm Bureau, and attends St. Patrick’s Church where he is the Youth Liturgy Leader. 

Reser-bEducation and Family - Reser holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. He and wife of 26 years, Heidi, live in Bellefontaine where they raised their two, now grown, children; daughter Ashley, an elementary school teacher, and son Jordan, a college student.
